For the people who worry about your car, and about you
A Circle is a shared garage. Everybody in it sees when a car's MOT or tax is due, so it is not one person's job to remember.
Arrivals, a live drive, and a shared car’s MOT, in one list.
What a Circle can see
- Cars you share: make, model, MOT and tax dates, and health. Never your documents; those stay on your phone.
- Where you are, live, only while you switch it on, decided per Circle, and off by default.
- Drives you finish: a summary and a simplified route, if you choose to share them.
- That you got somewhere: see below, because this one is built differently from how you would expect.
"I'm home" without a map
You can mark places of your own (home, work, a parent's house) and have a Circle told when you reach one. The place never leaves your phone. The coordinates are stored on the device and the check happens on the device; what is sent is the word you chose and "arrived".
So your Circle learns you got home. It does not learn where you live, and neither do we. There is no column in our database that could hold it.
It is deliberately separate from live location, because "do not show them where I am, but tell them I got home safe" is a reasonable thing to want, and on every other app it costs you a day of continuous tracking.
Every part of it is off until you turn it on
Per person, per Circle, and revocable at any time. Leaving a Circle stops everything immediately. The person who moves is the person who decides. Nobody can set up an alert about somebody else.
