Getting started
Where do the MOT and tax dates come from?
Straight from the DVLA and DVSA, using your registration. If what we show disagrees with your V5C or certificate, the paperwork wins. Email us the registration and we will look.
Do I need an account?
No. Your garage, reminders and mileage log work without one and stay on your phone. An account backs up your cars and is needed for Circles and vehicle checks, so they can follow you to a new phone.
Why are my reminders not arriving?
Check that notifications are on for Odomint in iPhone Settings, and that push notifications are switched on in the Alerts tab. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, so they work without an account or signal.
Mileage tracker
How do I start tracking my drives?
Open the mileage tracker and tap Start tracking mileage. iOS will ask for location access. Choose Always, so drives are caught with the app closed. The tracker shows Recording drives when it is working.
Why is the tracker not recording my drives?
Almost always because location is set to While Using rather than Always. Open the mileage tracker: if it cannot record, a red card says so and takes you to the right setting. Go to Settings, Odomint, Location and choose Always.
A drive is missing from my log
A drive is finalised once your phone moves again, so the last one can take a little while to appear. If one was genuinely missed, add it by hand from the bottom of the log. It counts towards your claim like any other and stays marked as added by hand.
How do I claim mileage from HMRC with Odomint?
Tag each drive as business or personal. The claim screen totals your business miles by tax year at HMRC’s approved rate (55p a mile for the first 10,000 from April 2026, then 25p) and you can export a CSV for your records or your accountant.
Circles
How do I share a car with my family?
Create a Circle, send the invite code to the people you want in it, then share a car into it. Everyone in the Circle can see that car’s MOT and tax status. Circles are free, with no limit on members.
How do I stop sharing my location?
Open the Circle and turn the switch off. It stops immediately and your position is deleted. Leaving a Circle stops everything for that Circle at once.
Do arrival alerts share my exact location?
No. Arrivals are checked on your own phone, and only the fact that you arrived or left, with the name you gave the place, is shared. The place itself never leaves your phone.
How do driving stats work in a Circle?
With Premium you can compare top speed, miles, drives and time with the people in a Circle. It is off by default and switched on one Circle at a time. Only totals are shared (never routes, places or times) and turning it off erases them.
Map, fuel and chargers
Where do the fuel prices come from?
From the government’s Fuel Finder scheme. Every UK forecourt must report price changes within 30 minutes, so prices are close to live, but check the pump, because a change can take a short while to appear.
How do I find the cheapest petrol or diesel near me?
Open the Map tab, tap Petrol & diesel and choose your fuel. The cheapest station within your chosen distance is highlighted in green with what it saves per tank, and prices are shown on the map pins.
Are charger availability and prices live?
Charger locations, speeds and published prices come from Open Charge Map. Availability is not live, so check the operator’s own app before a long detour.
Premium and purchases
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Odomint. Premium stays on until the end of the period you have paid for.
I paid but Premium is not showing
Open the paywall and tap Restore purchases. If that does not fix it, email us. Include the date of purchase, but never your card details.
My vehicle check payment went through but no check appeared
Close and reopen the app, signed in, and open the check screen. It finishes any purchase that was interrupted, automatically. Check credits never expire. If it still has not appeared, email us and we will sort it.
Privacy and your account
Do you sell my data?
No. Not to advertisers, insurers or data brokers. Odomint runs no advertising and no third-party analytics, and nothing is used to train AI.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile, then Delete account. It removes everything held against you on our servers, not just the app on your phone.
